Rosilo has launched a new high-capacity metal silo assembly project in Germany: at Schwedt, we are erecting four cells of 11,000 tons each — a total of 44,000 tons of new storage capacity. Work began at the end of July and adds to Rosilo’s growing portfolio of mechanical assembly projects carried out outside Romania, for agribusiness and storage-logistics clients with demanding technical requirements.

First stage: mechanical assembly on the Schwedt site

The metal structures for the four cells are manufactured by Silomasters, of Spain. Once delivered to the site, the entire mechanical assembly — from laying out and checking the foundations to erecting the walls and the roof structure — is carried out by the Rosilo team, using its own equipment and personnel.

On a project with four identical cells being erected in parallel, coordination between the assembly crews, the surveying team and the quality supervisors is essential for keeping to schedule and meeting all the technical tolerances the project requires.

Precision in the assembly of 11,000-ton metal silos per cell

Metal silo assembly at this capacity leaves no room for approximation. On this site, the Rosilo team applies:

  • dimensional checks at every assembly stage, to meet the tolerances set by the project;
  • precise alignment of the metal structures, essential for the cells’ long-term stability;
  • strict working-at-height and safety procedures, specific to structures of this size;
  • continuous coordination with the design team and the site’s technical acceptance representatives.

For four identical cells erected at the same time, this level of rigor reduces execution risk and ensures consistent quality across all four structures.

What mechanical assembly of a high-capacity silo involves

The metal silo assembly work Rosilo is carrying out on this Schwedt site includes:

  • inspection and acceptance of the foundations before assembly starts;
  • positioning and aligning the base structures of the four cells;
  • mechanical assembly of the metal walls, the roof structure and the stiffening elements;
  • installing the stairs, access platforms and safety elements;
  • tolerance and alignment checks in line with Silomasters’ technical documentation;
  • coordination with the teams responsible for the aeration and monitoring systems.
