The Rosilo team has officially started mechanical assembly works at the Biotim site in Timișoara, a landmark project for the Romanian bioenergy industry. Once completed, the investment will become the largest biomass pellet plant in Romania, with a capacity that will rank it among the most significant facilities of its kind in Eastern Europe.

First step: the straw debaling process line supplied by Cormall Denmark

Works began with the mechanical assembly of the straw debaling line, equipment delivered by our Danish partner Cormall A/S — a manufacturer with over 60 years of experience (founded in 1961) specialized in straw and biomass processing technology.

The debaling line is the heart of the process: this is where straw bales are opened, fibers are separated and prepared for the next stages — grinding, conditioning, and pelletizing. In practice, without a properly sized and correctly installed debaling line, the entire plant cannot reach its designed capacity.

Why Cormall? Low-energy technology with international validation

What sets the Cormall solution apart is its innovative engineering approach. Unlike conventional systems built around knife rotors running at 3,000 rpm, Cormall has developed technology based on slow-moving rotors at 65 rpm, which:

  • cuts energy consumption in half;
  • doubles processing capacity;
  • significantly reduces wear on machine components and spare parts;
  • lowers the fire hazard caused by sparks (critical in dust-laden environments);
  • considerably reduces noise levels.

These characteristics make Cormall equipment ideal for high-capacity process lines such as the one at Biotim, where reliability and energy efficiency are decisive factors in the long-term return on investment.

Mechanical assembly of a straw debaling process line is far more than just bolting equipment together. Rosilo’s scope includes:

  • precise positioning and alignment of support structures and conveyors;
  • mechanical assembly of main equipment (debalers, chain conveyors, separators);
  • hydraulic and pneumatic connections;
  • laser alignment of rotating shafts;
  • mechanical commissioning and tolerance checks per Cormall documentation;
  • coordination with the automation team for integration into the plant control system.

Our team of fitters and assembly engineers works directly on site, in close coordination with Cormall specialists, to meet the deadlines and technical standards required by a project of this magnitude.
